Our Piece of Paradise

A few months ago we bought our own piece of paradise. Well, a plot of land in Whatawhata, Hamilton.  It’s on a hillside, which means we have great views out over the surrounding countryside.

We’ve chosen our builders (Anthem Homes) and hoped to have started building by now but as is the way with these things, the Council decided we need Resource Consent. Fingers crossed it comes through in the next few days.  In the meantime, the house plans have been finalised and a lot of the fixtures and fittings have been selected.

A while back we fell in love with a dining table and chairs but decided to wait a while before buying.  This weekend we found out they were on sale so we bit the bullet and bought them and the matching sideboard.  Good thing we have some storage space in our garage.

Remember the Nunnaba yarn from my last post, well the Pende shawl is now well underway. This wool is so soft and squishy and I love the subtle colour changes throughout.  I will definitely buy more of this in future.

For now though, its time to crochet a few more rows.
