Shaking off the winter blues

I’ve been suffering from a little cabin fever recently.  It’s winter in the southern hemisphere, work is full on and the last two weekends I’ve been ill.  To shake off the winter blues we took a trip over to Raglan today.   It was dry when we left home but the heavens opened halfway there but we decided to continue and we got lucky.  We spent a lovely couple of hours wandering around the local craft market and shops.

We stopped at The Shack to grab a coffee but when we saw the menu we decided to have lunch.  I had the most amazing falafel which along with the usual hummus had red pepper chimmichurri, tahini and dukkah.  Sam had the soup of the day, mushroom with feta and kale.  My only regret is that I didn’t take a photo of it to show you all.

On the way back it started to rain again but it didn’t matter.  It created a beautiful double rainbow.  I don’t know about you, but rainbows always make me smile.

We finished our afternoon off by dropping in to see some friends that we haven’t seen for a few months.  It was good catching up with them and their two beautiful grandsons.
