Weekend Away.

It hasn’t been the greatest start to 2013 in terms of blogging.  My computer, which had been running slow for a few weeks, spat its’ dummy out and decided not to play anymore. Fortunately I have a husband who is tech savvy and he has been able to get it going again and even better, I haven’t lost a thing!  So a massive thanks goes out to Sam.

It’s a long weekend here in Hamilton so we escaped to the beach on Friday for a couple of days.  While we were there we visited The Cargo Shed, the home of creative arts in Tauranga, where I bought this gorgeous merino yarn.

Tauranga_wool_2I haven’t decided what I’m going to make yet but have something in mind, so watch this space.  At the same stall I found this yarn bombed bike.  It even has pockets on the basket.

yarn_bomb_bike_TaurangaWe headed for lunch at Bobby’s Fresh Fish Market, next door, where they serve the best  fish I’ve ever tasted.  The fish is brought in fresh every day and there is such demand for it that you often have to wait 30 minutes for your fish and chips, which are then eaten sitting at wooden benches on the old wharf.  Devine!  They even merit a mention on Lonely Planet.

More on our weekend away tomorrow.
